it's a well known open secret that the most widely used game engine is so riddled with bugs and undocumented behavior that users have resorted to doing unpaid labor to document it for them. how can this be seen as anything other than an institutional failure on an industry wide scale.

unity has demonstrated that you can serve your users a half broken plate of shit and not only will your users happily eat it and ask for more, you'll be the most profitable engine developer in the world. the future of software development is looking bright!
