I'm still fucked up from learning the other day that sharks are older than Saturn's rings

@umalkosh the oldest traces of sharks in the fossil record stretch back about 400 million years. about 360 million years ago we get the first fossils that are definitely recognizeable as sharks.

Saturn's rings are likely to have formed about 100 million years ago during a collision between its moons.

@umalkosh i was curious what mammals were up to when Saturn's rings appeared and it seems like evolution was experimenting with this cool new organ called the "placenta"
